Goat Milk Soap FAQ
What are the benefits of goat milk soap?
Most commercial soaps contain harsh surfactants that leaves your skin feeling dry and tight. Cold process soap making allows us to have complete control over the ingredients. There are no added detergents and we can add natural skin loving oils.
We focus on goat milk soap, because we have a beautiful abundance of creamy high butterfat raw goat milk. Our farm raises Nigerian Dwarf goats that are known for their high butterfat milk.
The high amount of fats and lactic acids, gently clean the skin and remove dead skin cells without removing the skin’s natural fatty acids. The high cholesterol and fatty acid levels may help improve dry skin by restore and re-hydrate the skin’s lipid barrier. This makes the bars of soap ideal for all skin types, including individuals with eczema, psoriasis, damaged skin, sensitive skin, or dry skin.
Our cold processed bar soap is extra nutrient dense because we add sunflower oil from Century Sun Oil, in Pulaski Wisconsin. Sunflower oil is an excellent source of beta-carotene and is high in oleic acid. This helps the oil penetrate into the skin.
Your skin will thank you for adding our vitamin and mineral dense bar soap to your skincare routine.
How do I use a soap bar?
The steps for using a bar soap or liquid soap are the same. Wet hands, lather hands for 20 seconds, rinse with running water, and dry with a clean towel.
Is it safe to use goat milk soap on my face?
Yes! Our bar soap is gentle and can be used on all your bits. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend unscented or lavender for face use.
How do I use bar soap in the shower?
We highly recommend a natural soap bag. If that's not an option lather the bar between your hands. To get a good lather, do a quick rinse of your skin and rub bar between your hands for 20 seconds. Then, apply the lather to your entire body. Rinse with warm water.
Where should I store bar soap?
Store on a tray or container that has air circulation. You want the bar to dry out between uses to extend the use.

Honey Down Farms has won me over!! Their soap is . Leaves my skin moisturized, enough lather that I can shave with it. Stopped at their booth this morning at the farmers market and they’re so friendly, gave us the best tip for their shower steamers, instead of tossing it in the shower- put it in a little mesh bag and it will last 3-4 showers!
I bought one a few months ago and recently purchased more as holiday gifts.
I LOVE both the lotion and all the soaps that I purchased from Honey Down Farms. They feel great on my skin and fragrance is subtle and pleasant. I am a new customer but will be a frequent one!
